stood on the roof of the precenct building, puffing on his pipe as he watched the Batsignal play over the lowering clouds above Gotham. Down below he could hear sirens and shouting, off in the distance gunfire sounded.
It all served to fuel the fear he'd felt since he'd led that raid on Carponi's headquarters and taken what seemed to be Batwoman's armor from the crimebosse's office where it'd been hung on the wall like a trophy.
She hadn't been seen since the blackout. And now there were other costumed vigilantes making their presence known in a city that she'd prided herself on keeping clean of them.
Jim gnawed the stem of his pipe and scowled. -Lord, please, let her be alright.-
