Taking to Give

Ras stealthily crept down the side of the Wayne mansion, his eyes bright as he went to a window and lowered himself down, peering upside down into the room beyond. Nodding when he saw his prey, he waited.

For a moment he watched her, struggling to live, ready to die, and shook his head. He'd saved her once, and now it was time to do so again. It was time for her to reach her full potential, and he'd be the one to help her do it.

With a crash he burst through the window, standing upright and barely blinking as some old lady screamed and jumped up, going for her purse.

The sound died on her lips as he calmly smacked her unconscious, then went over to the bed.

"My darling," he murmured, stroking Brenda's hair and gazing at her for a moment. Then he nodded and disconected her from the monitors, picking her up gently and firmly, and then was gone into the night.

Leslie moaned slightly, and after a moment her eyes flickered.

"M...miss Bree..." she said lamely.

"Uh, guess we gotta find a Doc for the Doc," Will said with a wry twist of his lips, able to find humor in even this horrible situation. He glanced at the window, wondering if he ought to go out and search for whoever had spirited Brenda away.

"Shh, Doctor," said Bree, then glared at Will. "Do NOT touch anything! Batman will want to see it just as it is when he comes."

"Oh dear... Brenda!" Leslie sat up so fast she nearly lost her lunch, then groaned.

"He's already searching," she said, head spinning as she reached behind and touched blood, frowning as she fought for consciousness.

Will scoffed at being told off by the little girl, and felt like messing things up just to spite her. Of course he didn't want to get told off by Batman so he simply scowled instead.

"Who's he?" He turned to Leslie. "We have to get you some help."

Bree gave Will a smaller, but very formidable Glare that showed very clearly just who she was. "Someone should check on Clara and Clark."

"Bruce... he's looking for a friend of his..." Leslie tried to think of wht happened, feeling her hert break with anxiety. Firs the child Nightlife, now Brenda. Who'd be taken next?

"Huh?" Will didn't get why that should matter, wasn't Batman able to take care of himself? And he glared back at Bree (not as scary as hers was, though), he didn't like being told what to do by a kid.

"Now now," Leslie sighed softly, still a bit dazed. "We must call for help...Brenda won't last long without her meds. One of you have to go for help.... even if we must find a vigilantee.... no choice. Must be done...."
