Two figures appear in the Batcave beneath Wayne Manor. One should be very familiar to the occupants of this universe. Clad in blue and purple, she's as beautiful as Selena Kyle with all the confidence of Bruce Wayne. Helena Wayne, the Huntress, daughter of the Batman and Catwoman of Earth-Two.

The other is a man approaching forty, just starting to gray, but in the fantastic shape that comes from a lifetime of exercise. His costume is a combination reds, yellows, and green, bright colors that had followed him since childhood. Dick Grayson, Robin, one-time partner of the late Batman and ex-Boy Wonder. He's loosely holding a bag which contains a change of clothes for the two.

"You sure about this, Hel?"

She nods. "I am, Dick. I know she's married and all... but I worry about "Aunt" Brenda sometimes. She's got a lot on her plate and a full house. I'm sure she could use some company and cheering up."

He laughs, something that comes easily to the former sidekick. "Bruce as a woman. Scary thought."

"Thanks." Clark quirks a rueful grin as he carefully picks up the pieces of broken glass.

Helena offers Brenda a smile. "Anything new going on in your life, Aunt Brenda?"

"Other than Clark coming back and... Kat leaving? No."

"Little of this, little of that for us," Helena says. "Dick and I ended up teaming up to fight the Joker."

Brenda stiffens slightly at the name and a trace of the Bat growl sounds in her voice as she asks, "How did that go?"

"Pretty well, actually. I did most of the work, tracked him down and everything... but Dick came into the case on his own and had the bright idea to dress up in one of Dad's old costumes. Distracted the Joker--who didn't really believe Batman was dead--long enough for us to drop the hammer on him."

"Good work." She turns away and heads for the coffee maker, her face blank as she works on getting herself in control again.

"You all right, Brenda?"

She turns her head to look at Dick, a little startled at the question, but then nods and turns back to the coffee. "I will be."

"Look... Hel's told me some of the stuff your Joker's done... but ours isn't anywhere near that insane or dangerous. Really, he's just a sad old man these days."

"I know." She pours a mug and offers it to him. "The name just stirs up memories."

He accepts it with a nod. "Thanks."

"So you're a lawyer?" She gets her own mug and settles back in her chair, icy eyes on his face.

"I've got a law degree, though I haven't practiced in a few years. I'm actually part of the Diplomatic Corps now, as an ambassador to South Africa. Don't get into Robin-action as much as I'd like... but I think I'm doing more good this way."
