Joint post with [livejournal.com profile] n_ranger

"Get back here," the elderly voice of an Old Bruce Wayne calls as he hobbles after a child. She is too cheery he decides as they are leaving a Nexus cafe known to quite a few across the multiverse. He had been looking after young Clara Powers until he could help her get home.

"Clara! Wait!" He grabs her shoulder to try and slow her downn. But then they are home. In front of Wayne Manor. At least to them it looks like home. The little girl gives him a shy grin then squeaks when she is picked up and carried inside. It was time to go 'home' as far as Wayne is concerned.

She tugs on Bruce's jacket lightly. Then grins impishly.

"You think Mrs. Westfield will be ok sir?" She missed her home. Well it wasn't really home but close enough really.

Alfred nods. "I will see if she is up to vistors, Master Wayne." he says simply. "Please make yourselves comfortable." he says before leaving to go into the living room.

Brenda's eyes are closed and she's hovering on the edge of sleep when Alfred's footsteps near her bed. She contemplates asking him how the boys are doing, but then elects to stay still.

The footsteps stop at the side of the bed and Alfred's hand is on her shoulder. He knew she wasn't asleep.

"Madame. There are guests here that wish to speak with you." he says quietly.

Those icey eyes open, one brow arching quizzically. She knows that if he hasn't sent the people away it's something important. "Who is it?"

He smiles inwardly though his professionalism is still in his voice and face. It was good to hear her voice again...

"A elder Bruce Wayne and a young child. They seem eager to speak with you, if you feel up to it."
