Worried
Two days had already passed since Bruce had seen Katalyn, and it was safe to say that he was seriously worried. She should have at least contacted him, let him know she was okay, even if she wanted to be alone. So now he was at her home, not finding any sign of her presence for at least 48 hours. He crouched in the dark little home, pawing through her things, looking for anything, any clues that would give away even the slightest hint to where she could be.

I chose this moment to reveal myself from the darkness, a calm look on my face and a confident grin shown at the same time as I leaped toward one of my mentor's most hated adversaries and kicked him across the face; I landed lightly on my feet only seconds afterward.
"Didn't anyone ever teach you to pick on people your own size, Joker?" I asked while keeping an eye on both him and someone in a familiar Bat-costume.
"While I distract him, you grab the girl and get out of here; try to alert Batman or the cops as soon as possible. Nice diversion, by the way." I whispered, not yet realizing that I didn't need to alert Batman.

"Shouldn't it be me, telling you what to do? Kid?" The tone was familiar, but wry and with the lighter tone of a child's voice. "Guess what happened? Again?"
But it wasn't a bad plan either, Tim was bigger than himself now even though he himself had been a big kid (after all, he was about ten right now) but he knew they'd have a better time at it if Katalyn was mobile, and especially away from the Joker. He threw two batarangs at the wall next to her for her to use.

The voice, though unmistakably lighter was familiar in tone. It was Bruce, but how had this happened?! Again? Had Klarion and his cat Teekl been by recently, or was this due to some other kind of magic I wasn't aware of?
At least I hadn't been turned into an adult. That would be quite the story to tell the Titans back home, or Stephanie!
Pulling out my staff, I allowed Batman to take the lead; the Joker was his darkest foe after all, and if he needed my help he would ask for it.
"I'll remember to ask what happened to you later, after this is over." I added, my eyes still widened a bit behind my mask.

Joker blinked, then saw his chance, throwing a few exploding bouncy balls at her, then grabbing the Bat and chucking him out, following quickly and throwing the latching, locking the Boy wonder in the room to figure out how to save the girl. He grinned as an explosion sounded from the room inside.
"And now that they're dead, it's time for you," he turned on the child in front of him.

Then suddenly he was grabbed and within a moment he was alone with the Joker. His reactions were slower, of course, but he didn't expect to be so taken off guard by that. His eyes narrowed.
"They're not dead. But you're comin' close." He brought out several batarangs in his hand, ready to throw them point blank at the Joker. And then he did.

Diving forward, I wrapped my cape around the unconscious girl and rolled away with her in tow as the bouncy balls exploded behind us. I reached for the door but frowned as I realized that it was locked! Great. Now we were locked inside, and the place was starting to catch fire.
"Looks like you're on your own Batman." I admitted grimly to myself while scanning the now burning area with a girl in my arms and wondering how I was gonna get out of this one.

First things first: remember what Batman taught me concerning innocent lives.
"Remember this, Tim-above all else, you must be prepared to sacrifice your life before risking someone else's."
Even if I didn't know who she was, I had to get her out of this situation, no matter what happened to me.

Making a break for the aforementioned shaft, I stopped right underneath it before gently shaking the girl awake. I would need her conscious if this plan was going to work.
"Hang on, Bruce...don't give up!"

In the other room the Joker scoffed.
"Try to cut me, boy," he sneered. "I've killed one Batboy, and now it's your turn!"

"#%#$#%^@!" He yelled, throwing the rang at the monster's face and really felt like choking him instead, instead of the other way around. You know, if he was stronger. It reminded him that two Jokers in this twisted multi-verse nexus thing was two too many.

"Good to see you're up. Okay-we're gonna get out of here. Do you see that vent above our heads? I'm gonna hold onto you and we're gonna go inside it and see if we can get out of this room.
"By the way, what's your name? I'm Robin."

"Batman... help... help him," she shivered.

"ARGH," Joker screamed as the batarang sliced his face. He snarled, blood flowing freely, but only tightened his grip, starting to laugh madly.

"Ckkk..." he rasped, panic beginning to flood through him. But with panic, came adrenaline, and it wasn't like he was already hopped up on enough of it already. He refused to go down like this, in front of the Joker, by the Joker, as a weak, terrified little kid. He wouldn't.
"NO!" He managed to squeak loudly while he kicked his legs out straight in front of him and upwards, hoping to catch the madman in the stomach.

Keeping a tight hold around her waist, I narrowed my eyes behind my mask while pulling out an exploding Batarang from my belt and throwing it toward the ventilation shaft. Seconds later, I used my staff and blocked the iron door from hitting either one of us, sending it clattering to the ground.
"Hang on, Bruce...we're getting out of here!" I thought angrily while putting my staff away and pulling out a grapple, firing it upward and soaring with a much younger Nightlife in my arms toward the opening.
If the Joker wasn't paying for what he'd did, when I got out of here he would...big time.

"Batman," she moaned, fingers scratching at the chest of whoever was carrying her. "Get... Batman!"
- -
Joker gasped, face draining as the kick caught him a little lower.
He stopped fighting for a split second, and suddenly a tiny orange ball hit him in the face, meowing and hissing and scratching at him.
He gave a thunderous yowl, then grabbed the orange thing and winged it away, eyes bugging in indescribable pain.

"Way to go, Bat-cat." He reached into his belt and pulled out a smoke pellet and tossed it at the Joker, as well as shooting a grappling gun right at the man's feet, hoping to tangle him and trip him up. If he ran now, he'd just end up making it worse for the rest of them if they got holed up in this lair. He had to end this fight and then make a break for it.
no subject
"That's the plan." I replied, putting her down and heading back the way I'd first came in to begin with. If I knew Batman like I knew the back of my hand, all I would have to do was phone in the police and handcuff the Joker-again.

Meanwhile, down below, the Joker was flat on his back, still truggling for some sense of what was going on, and where exactly the most pain was coming from. And now he couldn't breath or most his legs. What was going on??
