Alfred was sitting in the parlor drinking the tea he had just made. He was waiting. She must be out. He chuckled to himself. Of course, she was. It was night. She ruled the night.

He sighed and took a drink of his tea.

There was a soft chuckle from behind him. "Yer gonna @#$%& her off, ol' man."

Mornbein wandered over and peered into the teacup, her elfin face creasing itself in disgust as she shuddered. Then she looked up, her bright eyes unwontedly serious. "She's failin'. I don' even need t' listen ta her armor ta see it."

"Yup." Mornbein gave a dirty rotten chuckle, her face showing great satisfaction with her night's work. "A kid named Will Stronghold. Whiney little meta bonehead."

She pushes her hair behind one dainty pointed ear, which sports several rings and safety pins, then plays with a ring that he'd never seen her wear before. "Wait'll you meet 'im."

That gets him a cheeky, toothy grin as she holds out her left hand, letting the small but adaquit diamond on the flame cut ring catch the light.
"Like my weddin' ring?"

"I'm of age." She shrugs, enjoying his slight surprise. "My ol' lady 'n older sister got married the same age."

Will was initially a bit scared (though he would never admit it) that he was strapped in and the Batmobile was all driving on its own and all. He could probably smash his way out but he didn't want to dare put a scratch on the Tumbler.

Everything was dark except the bright blinking lights and doohickeys within the 'mobile itself, until there was that last terrifying dark leap into the cave. Soon he felt the acceleration stop and slow, and he knew he must be in the Batcave. He grinned like the fanboy he was and fortunately the seatbelts/harness thingie undid itself and the door opened.

A sort of cool breeze slipped past his face and ruffled his hair, as he cautiously climbed out of the Tumbler and stepped into the Cave. Though it was mostly dark, he looked around. Perhaps it wouldn't hurt here to just take a peek...

His feet slowly left the ground as he levitated about ten feet in the air, seeing if he could see the entire cave from his vantage point. Of course he didn't realize he could smash his head against an unseen crag, and his eyes widened as he realized he upset a few Bats left in and they swirled around him as he yelled like a maniac and threw his hands up to protect his face.

Will shuddered as he kept thinking that nasty leather wingbeats were around his head, and levitated down until his feet hit secure...rock. Ew, was there bat-poop around here? He barely dared to look up again. The voice surprised him. Was it...could it be?

"Alfred?" he asked tentatively.

[identity profile] flying-strong.livejournal.com 2006-11-03 01:30 pm (UTC)(link)
Will was even more surprised that he knew his name. He tried to peer up through the darkness, not sure where to go.

"Y...yes?"

[identity profile] flying-strong.livejournal.com 2006-11-06 09:35 pm (UTC)(link)
"Mornbein..." he grumbled and gritted his teeth. Will called back up. "Okay, coming!"

Now to figure out how to get...up. He squinted and began making his way to what looked like a staircase...probably.

[identity profile] flying-strong.livejournal.com 2006-11-07 02:39 pm (UTC)(link)
Finally finding the stairs, he dashed up them two at a time, happy to be getting out of that creepy place. A sudden growl made him stop. He blinked, seeing a dog materialize out of the shadows. He was growling and raising his hackles.

"N...nice puppy?" Will was surprised to find a dog in here, of all places. Ace growled and barked, and tried to chase him back down the stairs but Will fortunately leaped upwards a few feet and flew over his head and ran up the rest of the stairs, panting.

"YAHHHH!!!"

He passed some gadgets and doors and suddenly found himself in a bright place, blinking, not knowing where to go.

[identity profile] flying-strong.livejournal.com 2006-11-08 03:30 am (UTC)(link)
"Ace, good boy," Will muttered nervously as he indeed followed the dog up and out of the cave. It was like entering a whole 'nother world, the sudden change into the Manor. He whistled, impressed. His eyes rested upon the English gentleman before him, even more impressed that this indeed was Alfred. He felt like a geeky fanboy again and cheered up.

"Freaky dog you got there! I'm Will, but you already know that. And I know you're Alfred. Hey, you're making tea? That's so cool, just like in the movies and in the comics and stuff!" The words came just as fast as he thought them.
