The Scout - Checking out Gotham

Every time they were going some where new, they always drew straws. Everytime. Yet every time Eva lost. Why? Because she choose the shorter straw because he twin couldn't be trusted. 
She sighed looking around, wondering what she should do. Seeing a poster of superman she grinned. She walked over pulling out a permanent Black marker and scribbling on it. THe usual, horns, beard, evil mustache.......

"It vas his life or that of another." The huge wings rustled as the long ears went back in what seemed like a frown. "Vhat are you doing in Gotham?"

"Looking around, what are you doing in Gotham?" she asked crossing her arms.

The ears went back further as her wings swept back to show the Bat symbol on the chest of her garment. "Protecting her."

She looked at the symbol for a long moment "Interesting........"

The ears perked again at the girl's odd responses. "Vhere do you come from?"

"Where do you come from?" she asked. Before flashing her best smile "If your like a bat hero shouldn't you just like..... Know?"

The dark one's hand darted forward faster than the human eye could see, imprisoning the girl's wrist in fingers that looked like slender knotted twigs but felt stronger than steel.

She wouldn't be able to break free.

Eva considered several possibilites including dodging the grip, or similar. Instead she decided on the 'normal girl' option. She started struggling....... in a feeble girly girl manner, and squeeling "Eeee LET ME GO!"

"Stop that," said the winged woman sternly, her head cocked as she matched the girl's features and the feel of her wrist to something in her memory. "You're Kryptonian."

"No I'm not" she snapped "Let GO"

"Not until you tell me who you are and where you come from."

She narrowed her eyes "I'm a member of a girl group who's gone solo, I hail from Ireland" she grinned.

"The truth," said the dark one gently.

"You know your TOTALLY assaulting me" she said with a scowl. "Now LET GO" she growled

"The last known Kryptonian vas murdered a little under two years ago. He died vithout children. Now you come to Gotham vearing his face." Those black eyes narrowed slightly. "I'll ask again, who are you?"

"I'm vearing nobodies face" she snapped "but my own!" she said. "NOW LET GO OR I'LL SCREAM!"

"Go ahead," she said calmly, knowing that no one would respond.

Her brother may, which is why she didn't. "I'm not saying nothin"

"Then you're leaving und not returning."

She scowled "Ok fine yeah I'm a krypto chick looking for somewhere to live........" she sighed "and you are MEAN"

"I'm protecting vhat vas trusted to my care," rejoined the winged woman gently, reading the girl's body language and seeing that she was telling the truth, or felt that she was. "Vill you tell me vhere you come from?"

"No" she said. "Not willingly"

"Then I'll have to ask you to leave," she said regretfully.

"Your a horrid person, isn't a personal right to privacy? Do you have to like.... apply to move into gotham?"

"Vithout knowing who and vhat you are I have no vay of knowing whether you're a threat to my city."
